Constitution and Objects of The Association
The Leicestershire Wildfowlers' Association consists of a body
interested in wildfowl, the sport of wildfowling, rough and game
shootings and all matters appertaining to shooting, having a President,
Vice-Presidents, honorary and regular members.
The following extract from our membership rules illustrate the
aims of The Association:
Rule 2. The Objects of the Association
are:
- (a) to
uphold and protect Wildfowlers and Wildfowling, Game, Woodpigeon
and Vermin Shooting and to promote the sport of shooting generally;
- (b) to provide sporting, educational
and social facilities for all members;
- (c) to promote and hold meetings,
competitions, matches and to offer, give or contribute towards
prizes and to promote, give or support dinners or other entertainments;
- (d) to give such financial and
other assistance to members and others in support of Wildfowlers,
Wildfowling as the Council may think desirable;
- (e) to arrange for such insurance
of whatever nature as the Council may think desirable;
- (f) to borrow or raise money for
the purposes of the Association on such terms as the Council
may think fit;
- (g) to invest the monies of the
Association not immediately required for its purposes in or
upon such investments, securities or purposes as the Council
may think fit;
- (h) to further all movements whether
existing or proposed which may be to the interest of the sport
of shooting;
- (i) to suppress poachers and to
take all steps whether financial or otherwise for this purpose
and as may be thought desirable by the Council;
- (j) to foster among its members
and others an interest in matters relating to ornithology as
far as Wildfowl and Game birds are concerned;
- (k) to assist the legal protection
and preservation of wildfowl and other wild birds and to organise
the rearing and ringing of wildfowl;
- (l) to assist the legal protection
and preservation of Game birds, Wildfowl and other wild birds
and to organise the rearing and ringing of Wildfowl;
- (m) generally to uphold and maintain
the interests of its members in such a matter as the Association
in General Meeting or the Council shall from time to time decide;
- (n) to do such other things as
are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects
or any of them.
